Bedtime Stories’ illustration is a collage of forty four books consisting of favorite and classic bedtime stories, such as Curious George and Goodnight Moon. The book covers’ color palette is not as vibrant as today’s book covers, because the illustrations were introduced before the advent of digital printing. However, the colors are quite attractive.
In addition, this was our first Re-Marks puzzle and we noticed that there was more puzzle dust than other brands. Not sure if this is typical of the brand or just for this specific puzzle.. The interlocking of the pieces were supple, tight enough but loose enough so that it was easy to snap in place. The interconnect pieces were easy to disconnect.
Our main objective is always to have fun and not focus on the time. Coincidentally, the puzzle’s edge pieces were very obvious to spot when the puzzle was opened up. Therefore, the first step we did was to find the edge pieces and assemble them. The next step was to find pieces for specific books and put those together. Most of the books have distinct colors and patterns, which made it easy to sort and assemble together. However, three of the books had the same yellow tone for their background.
Overall, it took two eight year olds about three hours and thirty eight minutes (03:38:17) to complete the puzzle. Surprisingly, it was a quick puzzle. Therefore, the puzzle is ideal as a first foray into 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles or for book lovers.
